Wondering how to make buttercream? Let us school you. This vanilla buttercream recipe is the perfect addition to any cake! Made with only a few ingredients, the result is a smooth and fluffy frosting that's easy to pipe or spread. Whether you want icing for cupcakes or a birthday cake, this recipe will serve you well.

Method

Using a stand mixer or by hand, beat the butter until soft and fluffy.

Add the cream, salt, vanilla, and 100g of the icing sugar. Beat on a low speed, and gradually add the rest of the icing sugar bit by bit.

Increase the speed to medium/high, and continue to beat until it's smooth and fluffy. Add more sugar or cream if it's too thin or thick - depends on your preference!

Use however you like - I'd recommend with a rich chocolate cake! Enjoy!
