Twisted: Unserious food tastes seriously good.

Everyone has a mate who shamelessly slathers their pasta in Tomato Ketchup.

Well, Heinz is now humouring those individuals, creating special limited-edition jars of Tomato Ketchup Pasta Sauce.

The new sauce is a cheeky tribute to a quarter of Heinz’ customers who claim to eat pasta with Ketchup.

It isn’t just Ketchup in a jar, though.

Ketchup makes up 10 percent of the bottle whilst alongside 84 percent of other ingredients, including tomato puree, vinegar and olive oil, with additional herbs and spices, too.

Heinz said it picked the ratio of Ketchup so that customers could taste it but it was also balanced with other Neapolitan flavours.

The limited-edition sauce is going to be available from October 4th in Tesco stores nationwide, and also online at heinztohome.co.uk.

It’s selling for £2.50, however, you’ll only have four weeks to get it!

The new pasta sauce comes as 2000 customers were surveyed by Heinz, and more than half (59 percent) believed it wasn’t acceptable to put on pasta.

A total of 24 percent weren’t against using the condiment as a pasta sauce, and the findings uncovered they were most frequently between 18 and 34.

The brand is now on a mission to prove the doubters wrong…

Heinz new ventures director Caio Fontenele said: “Never say never! Whether ketchup was originally intended to go on pasta or not, we couldn’t help but listen to the love our fans share on social media for the combination.

“So, we’ve brought together our Heinz Pasta Sauce and Heinz Tomato Ketchup to give you the pasta sauce we’ve all been dreaming of. While some might say it’s ridiculously wrong, we think it’s simply, ridiculously good.”

Whether this is your usual jam or not, it definitely sounds worth a try…
